Russia attacked with Iskander and more than 400 drones: how many were shot down by air defense

On the night of July 16, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Crimea, as well as 400 Shahed-type attack drones and various types of imitators from the following directions: Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – (Russian Federation), Chauda – TOT of Crimea (up to 255 of them are Shahed). This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs

The main areas of attack are Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense shot down 198 enemy Shahed UAVs (and other types of drones) in the north, south, east and center of the country. In addition, 145 imitator drones were locally lost/suppressed by electronic warfare.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

One missile and 57 UAVs hit 12 locations, and debris fell in 2 locations.

As a reminder, Russian occupants launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih on the night of July 15, which resulted in a large-scale fire. Subsequently, the city came under a massive shakedown attack.

Also on the evening of July 15, the Russian military launched a massive drone attack, creating a threat in many regions of the country. In particular, at least 17 explosions were heard in Kharkiv. Three people were injured.
