Russia attacks Konotop: a residential building was hit

On the night of Thursday, 12 September, Russia launched several groups of drones into Ukraine. Several explosions were heard in Konotop, Sumy region. The mayor of the city, Artem Semenikhin, said that the enemy hit an apartment building, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
He also said that after the strike, there was no electricity in the city, and there was damage to the city’s infrastructure.
“We have had several ‘arrivals’, the enemy has hit the infrastructure of our city. There is no electricity in the city now,” said the mayor of Konotop.
Two people were hospitalised as a result of the attack. One of them is in a coma.
“The exact number of wounded is not yet known. Water supply has been temporarily restored in the city. In the morning there will be no water for some time, so we should make reserves. In addition, we have arranged for people to be taken to places of temporary accommodation. We are talking about citizens whose homes were damaged,” he informed.
“We have had several “arrivals”, the enemy has hit the infrastructure of our city. There is no electricity in the city now,” said the mayor of Konotop.
According to him, fires have started.
“The enemy struck, in particular, the city centre and residential areas. I hope that we managed to evacuate all the residents from their homes. We are now launching backup power sources to supply the network with water, as there is not enough water to extinguish the fires,” the mayor added.
A headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the Russian attack is operating in the city. The city is also launching “Points of Unbreakability” to charge gadgets.
