Russia attacks Kyiv with ballistic missiles: there are fires and emergency calls

On the night of October 22, Russians launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Explosions were heard in the capital. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on the work of the air defense forces, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Attack with ballistic missiles
The airspace over Kyiv is under attack from ballistic missiles, which are among the most dangerous due to their high speed and difficulty of interception.
Air defense systems are in active mode to repel the attack.
“Explosions in Kyiv. Air defense forces are working. Stay in shelters!” wrote Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Fire and rescuers’ work
A fire broke out in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv as a result of the explosion. All necessary services – fire units, emergency crews, and police – were sent to the scene.
Data on the extent of the damage and possible victims are being clarified.
Medical teams have also been dispatched to the Darnytskyi district, where the impact could have been recorded. Emergency response services are working in an enhanced mode.
Appeal to the population
The city authorities emphasize the need to strictly follow safety rules:
- Do not leave the shelter until the air raid warning is officially canceled
- Do not film or distribute videos of air defense operations
- Return to shelters in case of repeated explosions or new alarms.
