Russia attacks Kyiv with drones: there is damage

On the night of 17 October, the Russian army again attacked Ukraine’s capital with attack drones. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA ) and Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Russian drones came at Kyiv in waves and from different directions, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“Since yesterday evening and throughout the night, the air raid alert was announced in the city 4 times, the total danger lasted three and a half hours. In addition to the threat of UAVs, one of the alarms was related to the threat of enemy use of ballistic weapons,” the KIAA said.
As a result of the coordinated work of air defence and other components of the defence forces, all Russian UAVs that were detected in the airspace over Kyiv and on the outskirts of the city were neutralised.
The exact number and type of drones will be made public by the Air Force, the KCSA said.
Earlier, as a result of the attack by Russian attack drones in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv
an apartment block was damaged.
“According to the information available at the moment, window glazing and interior decoration were damaged on three floors of the building. No casualties have been reported,” the KCIA added.
According to Klitschko, a small piece of a UAV was found on the territory of a kindergarten in the Desnianskyi district of the capital after the attack.
“A window in the building of the institution was broken. There are no other damages or destructions. No casualties were reported. Also in Desnianskyi district, a UAV fragment fell in an open area. There was no damage or casualties,” said Klitschko.
In total, since yesterday evening and throughout the night, four air alerts have been declared in the capital, which lasted a total of 3.5 hours. One of the alerts was also related to the threat of Russian terrorists using ballistic missiles.
