Russia attacks Ukrainian thermal power plant: three power engineers wounded

During the night attack, one of Ukraine’s thermal power plants came under Russian fire. As a result, three DTEK employees were injured. This was reported by the company‘s press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Another difficult night for the Ukrainian energy sector. Russians fired at one of DTEK’s thermal power plants. Three of our colleagues were wounded. Doctors are providing all possible assistance,”

– the statement said.

The attack also severely damaged equipment at the TPP. The power engineers are currently working to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack.

DTEK noted that over the past three months, Russia has carried out 7 attacks on Ukrainian TPPs. In total, DTEK’s thermal power plants have been shelled more than 180 times since the beginning of the war. Three power engineers were killed in these attacks, and 53 other employees were injured.

The morning attack also damaged high-voltage power grids in Brovary district.

By five in the morning, power engineers managed to connect about 5,250 houses to backup power supplies.

“The shelling damage response is ongoing. We are doing everything possible to restore electricity to all families in Kyiv region by the end of the day,”

– dTEK said.

Last night, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 attack drones. The enemy targeted Ukrainian energy facilities.

According to Ukrenergo, equipment at facilities in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Donetsk and Kyiv regions was damaged.

The consequences are being clarified.

There were also reports of enemy attempts to attack Kyiv with drones, but air defence forces and equipment destroyed all enemy attack UAVs on the outskirts of the capital.
