Russia attacks western regions of Ukraine: much destruction and casualties, some dead

On the night of Saturday, July 12, enemy troops attacked Ukraine with 26 missiles and nearly 600 drones. The main attack took place in western Ukraine. The main targets of the Russians were Chernivtsi, Lviv, and Lutsk.

The night attack on Lviv caused significant damage and casualties. As a result of the attack on the city, 10 people were injured, including two children.
Six families whose homes are no longer habitable have been temporarily relocated to hotels. Damaged in total:
- 51 buildings (528 apartments),
- 19 cars,
- 21 business premises,
- 2 industrial facilities.
Elements of the facade and windows of Lviv Polytechnic’s academic buildings were also damaged.
An emergency response team is currently working on the ground.
In addition, it is reported that the wreckage of enemy drones and cruise missiles is still being found in various settlements of the Lviv region.
In Lutsk, the destruction is not as extensive, but the city experienced a sleepless night.
According to Ivan Rudnytsky, head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, a total of 35 UAVs and 2 missiles were spotted in the airspace of the region during the alert.
As a result of the falling debris, a residential building caught fire and was destroyed, and cars were damaged in Lutsk. All relevant services are working at the scene.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties – no injuries or deaths.
On the night of July 12, Russians launched a combined attack on the city of Chernivtsi. As a result of the shelling, the number of victims reached 26, and two people were reported dead.
Thus, two civilians were killed in Chernivtsi by Russian shelling:
- 43-year-old Svyatoslav Lazarenko, an employee of the Sniatyn City Council in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast;
- 26-year-old Diana Kravchenko, the head of a pharmacy in Chernivtsi.
Seven people are in hospital, three in serious condition, four have already been operated on.
Administrative buildings, residential buildings, two non-functional structures and cars came under fire in the city.
