Russia is destroying Ukraine’s road infrastructure

JSC “DAC “Automobile Roads of Ukraine” is asking international partners for help with equipment for road construction and maintenance that they no longer need and have already taken out of service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The company says that such assistance is especially needed by those who are directly close to the war zone and are at daily risk of air and missile strikes by Russian aggressors.
Recently, a Russian missile destroyed the production base of one of the regional road administrations.
“The horrific photos of the Russian missile hitting the production base of one of the regional road administrations of JSC “DAC “Automobile Roads of Ukraine” are shocking…The ballistic strike on a peaceful state-owned road construction company, which worked practically around the clock on the country’s roads, ensuring traffic flow and clearing snow drifts, defies all logic,” the company said in a statement.
Production and administrative premises were destroyed, and specialized road equipment and machinery were destroyed.
“It is unclear what crime the equipment, which was used daily by road repair crews, committed against the Russian barbarians.In its impotent rage, the enemy is committing ever greater crimes and, after terrible shelling of energy infrastructure and attacks on Ukrainian railway trains and depots, has now begun hunting down equipment and production facilities belonging to regional road authorities,” the company said.
As emphasized by JSC “DAC “Automobile Roads of Ukraine,” in this regard, the safety of road transport in the country and the provision of additional resources in the form of equipment (for both horizontal and vertical construction) to a key state-owned company that is capable of supporting the state in difficult times is being viewed in a fundamentally different light.
The company reports that it was JSC “DAC “Automobile Roads of Ukraine” that provided more than 40% of road crew workers and more than 37% of special equipment during the peak days of the fight against winter weather.
They explain that therefore, support from the state, as well as international organizations, foundations, donors, and international companies in the field of road construction and operation, which have thousands of pieces of equipment used in the construction and operation of roads on their balance sheets, but which has already been decommissioned due to the renewal of the technological and vehicle fleet, is extremely important. The Company already has positive experience in transferring such equipment.
“That is why JSC “DAC “Automobile Roads of Ukraine” will be grateful to all European and international institutions for their support and consideration of the possibility of transferring such equipment in the form of technical assistance to the regional road administrations subordinate to the Company,” the statement said.
