Russia shells Kharkiv: 15 injured in attack

On the evening of Thursday, 20 September, Russian troops dropped guided aerial bombs on the central part of Kharkiv. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
“We have information about a strike on Kharkiv by two CABs,” he wrote.
Later, Terekhov added that the UAVs hit a medical facility. He later clarified that there were three strikes on Kharkiv – two in the Shevchenkivskyi district and one in the Kyivskyi district.
“We have preliminary information that there are victims,” Terekhov wrote.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the OVA, the occupiers hit the roadway in the very centre of Kharkiv with a KAB.
“A car is on fire. Kiosks, windows of hospital buildings, and a hotel, which had already been hit by enemy fire, have been damaged,” Sinegubov said.
Later, Mayor Terekhov reported four injured, including a 10-year-old child.
According to the head of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office, Oleksandr Filchakov, the attack took place at around 20:45. The Russian occupiers used a Su-34 aircraft to carry out the strikes, which launched three guided aerial bombs from Belgorod. According to preliminary data, these were FAB-250s with UGMs.
Filchakov said that in Kholodnohirsky district of the city, an enemy aerial bomb hit the territory of a private house. In Shevchenkivske, a hit was recorded on the roadway near the hospital. Meanwhile, in Kyivskyi district, it hit the territory of an enterprise.
“As of now, we know about eight victims, including two girls aged 10 and 17. The children were diagnosed with an acute stress reaction,” said the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Currently, prosecutors, police investigators and investigators are working at the scene to document war crimes.
“Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war),” the statement said.
Later, Igor Terekhov said that the number of victims had increased to 15. All of them, except for the children, are in moderate condition. Two children and one adult are in light condition. Eight of the victims were hospitalised.
