During the air raid, explosions were heard in Kharkiv. Russia attacked the city with guided bombs. A 5-storey residential building was hit, and a fire broke out. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov.

According to him, a residential high-rise building was hit.

“One of the UAVs hit a residential high-rise building,” Terekhov wrote.

At the site of the hit, there is a fire – the building itself and cars near it are on fire, Terekhov said.

According to Sinegubov, the enemy hit a five-storey building between the third and fourth floors. At least 10 cars are on fire. Rescuers are evacuating residents. Firefighting and search operations continue.

Among the eight victims is a three-year-old girl. All of them are in moderate to light condition, the head of the OVA said.

President Vladimir Zelensky reacted to Russia’s strike on Kharkiv.

He posted a video of the aftermath.

“Kharkiv, Saltovka, an ordinary residential building that was hit by a Russian bomb. A rescue operation is underway. We are searching for anyone who may have been injured. We know about 8 wounded people. Everyone will be provided with the necessary assistance. And for such Russian strikes to stop, Ukraine must receive the necessary and, most importantly, sufficient assistance from the world and its partners. Every leader knows exactly what to do. It is important to be decisive,” the President wrote.

The number of victims has increased to nine, Syniehubov said.

According to the State Emergency Service, the facade and four apartments on the 4th and 5th floors were destroyed. Structural elements of the building and 2 cars caught fire over an area of 65 square metres.

There may be people under the rubble of the building destroyed by the occupiers.
