22 October 07:45

On the night of October 21-22, Russian troops launched another combined missile and drone attack on Ukrainian territory. In Poltava region, oil and gas infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the Russian attack. This was reported by the acting head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Kohut in Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“As a result of direct hits and falling debris, the facilities of oil and gas companies in the Myrhorod district were damaged,” Kohut said.

According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

The air alert in Poltava region has not yet been canceled, and air defense forces continue to operate.

Kohut urged residents of the region to stay in shelters until the official alert is lifted.

Systematic shelling and losses

It should be noted that since the beginning of October, Russia has conducted at least four attacks against Poltava region. They hit the oil and gas infrastructure and the railroad. Some gas production facilities were forced to shut down.

The day before, Naftogaz reported that in the past week alone, Russians had massively attacked Ukraine’s gas infrastructure three times – in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.

According to Bloomberg, Ukraine has lost up to 60% of its own gas production as a result of recent Russian shelling.

On the night of October 22, Russia launched a massive attack against various regions of Ukraine, targeting Kyiv as well. The attack lasted all night and continues as of 7 am.
