On the night of June 17, during a massive air attack, Russia struck at the railway infrastructure in Kyiv and the region. Freight cars, including those transporting Ukrainian grain, came under fire. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, Russian missiles and drones damaged railway infrastructure in Kyiv region. Freight cars transporting agricultural products were particularly affected.

The published photos from the scene show that one of the railcars was completely destroyed – the explosion tore the structure and the grain spilled out onto the railroad tracks. The mangled pieces of metal indicate the strength of the blast wave.

Other images show overturned cars that have derailed, and scattered wheelsets and running gear elements. Such destruction is evidence of targeted shelling of infrastructure facilities of strategic importance to the economy.

“Ukrzaliznytsia has not yet specified how many railcars were damaged.

“Kyiv, this morning. Ukrainian railroad, Ukrainian grain. The enemy continues to destroy everything Ukrainian,” said Oleksandr Pertsovsky, head of the Ukrzaliznytsia branch

At the same time, he assured that the attack would not affect the train schedule. The railroad is already working to repair the damaged section, and no delays have been reported.

As a reminder, on the night of June 17, Russia attacked Kyiv almost continuously with “shaheds” and rockets. So far, 15 people have been killed and 90 wounded.

“Ukrposhta has lost two offices in Kyiv due to the current hostile attack.
