According to Hryhorov, several villages in the border communities of the region are now under the temporary control of the enemy.
“Today, the enemy is controlling Novenke and Basivka of the Yunakivska community and Veselivka and Zhuravka of the Khotynska community in Sumy region,” said the head of the JMA.
At the same time, the official emphasized that there is no threat to civilians, as all residents of these villages were evacuated in advance.
Combat actions in several sectors
The enemy continues to try to advance in the northeast of Sumy region. According to the Sumy Military Administration, the fiercest fighting is taking place on the outskirts of the villages of Vodolaha, Volodymyrivka, Bilovody, Kostiantynivka and Kindrativka of the Khotyn community, as well as near Lokny of the Yunakiv community.
“The enemy continues to try to advance in order to create a so-called “buffer zone”,” emphasized Colonel Hryhorov.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are keeping the situation under control. Ukrainian defenders are resolutely repelling the attacks, inflicting precision fire on the enemy.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces and all components of the defense forces are keeping the situation under control, inflicting precision fire on the enemy. Our defenders are decisively repelling the enemy’s attacks and preventing them from advancing deep into Sumy region,” noted Hryhorov.
