Russian shelling halts operation of Ukrnafta’s facilities: what is known

Ukrnafta’s production facilities have been suspended due to a combined Russian attack on the night of Tuesday, December 23. This was announced by Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretsky, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to him, Russia continues to deliberately attack Ukraine’s oil and gas infrastructure in an attempt to damage the country’s energy system.

“During a nighttime combined attack, the enemy struck at Ukrnafta’s production facilities. There is destruction, work has been stopped,” Koretsky said.

No casualties, but destruction

The head of Naftogaz emphasized that there were no casualties or injuries, but there was damage to the infrastructure.

Urgent restoration work is currently underway, and specialists are working in an emergency mode to stabilize the situation as soon as possible.

Attacks on the energy sector continue

Naftogaz emphasizes that the attacks on production and processing facilities are part of Russia’s systemic campaign against the Ukrainian energy sector.

Nevertheless, the energy sector continues to repair and protect infrastructure to minimize the impact of the attacks and ensure the stability of the sector.
