Russian flag was raised over Kyiv: details from the National Police
21 December 02:16
On Saturday, December 20, a video of a drone flying with a Russian flag over Kyiv was posted online. After clarification, it turned out that the footage was real and not a fake.
This was stated by National Police spokeswoman Yulia Girdvilis in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“After additional verification, it was found that an unidentified drone was indeed raised in the capital. The details of the incident are being established,” she said.
What preceded it
As a reminder, footage of a drone flying over Kyiv with a Russian flag was circulated online. Later, the Kyiv police checked this information and found no confirmation.
“The video of a flying drone with a Russian flag in the sky over Kyiv is a fake,” Yulia Girdvilis said at the time.
However, as it has now become known, the video was real.
Fakes from Russia
It is worth noting that recently, social media has been seeing a lot of different fakes, including those created with the help of artificial intelligence, that are not actually true.
For example, the Center for Countering Disinformation recently reported that Russian propagandists are once again massively replicating fake materials about Kupiansk created with the help of AI.
In addition, pro-Kremlin resources have again launched videos on TikTok showing alleged “soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” at different parts of the frontline and talking about the collapse of the defense. But in reality, these videos were also created using artificial intelligence.
