Train traffic restricted for safety reasons: where bus transfers are operating
4 February 10:41
Ukrzaliznytsia has updated information on train traffic in several regions of Ukraine as of February 4. Due to the escalation of the security situation in certain areas, bus transfers and enhanced traffic monitoring have been introduced. This was reported by the company’s press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Kharkiv region: bus detours instead of trains
In the Kharkiv region, the Lozova-Barvinkove-Kramatorsk section remains a high-risk area. In this regard, train traffic here is limited.
Passengers are advised to use the organized bus transfer, which provides connections to long-distance trains. Ukrainian Railways emphasizes that all transfers are supervised by railway workers.
Zaporizhzhia region: the basic solution is bus transfers
The security situation in the Zaporizhzhia region is being constantly monitored. Currently, the basic transport option remains bus transfers between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
Passengers traveling to Zaporizhzhia or Synelnykove are advised to:
- follow the instructions of the train crews;
- listen carefully to announcements at stations;
- check notifications in the Ukrzaliznytsia app.
If the situation improves, train service may be restored in certain areas, but the safety of passengers and staff remains the priority.
Sumy region: traffic is maintained, but with increased caution
Despite recent shelling in the Konotop area, train traffic in the Sumy region continues. Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring groups are working in an enhanced mode.
The company warns that in the event of an immediate threat, trains may be forced to stop near shelters in accordance with safety protocols.
Appeal to passengers
Ukrzaliznytsia reminds passengers:
“Please follow the updates on our official resources and be sure to enable push notifications in the app.”
The latest information is updated promptly depending on the development of the security situation in the regions.
What preceded the restrictions
On January 27, Russian drones attacked a passenger train traveling from Chop to Kharkiv to Barvinkove near the village of Yazykovo in the Barvinkove community of the Izium district.
After that, Ukrzaliznytsia strengthened security measures and reviewed train traffic in the frontline regions.
