SBU blocks dozens of anonymous channels on Telegram with location about TCC

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the Security Service of Ukraine has blocked dozens of anonymous channels on Telegram that reported information about the locations of the TCC. This was reported by the SBU in response to a request from Kommersant’s Ukrainian .

They stressed that the publication of such data is illegal.

“The publication of information about the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law may contain signs of a crime under Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period),”

– the statement said.

The SBU stressed that cyber specialists are constantly monitoring the information space to identify destructive anti-Ukrainian content and pro-Russian propaganda and block their spread.

“In case of detecting signs of such a crime using Telegram channels, SBU cyber specialists take a set of measures to identify their administrators, bring them to justice, and remove illegal content,”

– the SBU added.

It said that in many cases, the exposed administrators of such Telegram channels plead guilty, cooperate with the investigation and remove such destructive content on their own. In other cases, the SBU requests the blocking of individual Telegram channels directly to the platform, which then acts in accordance with its own declared policies.

Earlier, [Komersant ] journalists looked into the reasons behind the massive emergence of Telegram channels leaking information about the TCC.
