Today, Shakhtar Donetsk played its sixth Champions League match in Gelsenkirchen. The match ended in a 1-5 defeat for the Ukrainian champion. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ukrainian Football Association.

The first half of the match was very exciting. In the 5th minute, Donetsk opened the scoring. Zubkov made a split pass to Kevin, who scored a goal in the far corner – 1: 0. However, six minutes later, the Bavarians scored again. Limer picked up the ball in Shakhtar’s penalty area and hit a powerful shot under the crossbar from the right flank of the attack.

In the 44th minute, the nominal hosts had a great chance to take the lead, but Sudakov failed to capitalize on Kevin’s excellent pass. And immediately came the retribution. A minute later, Muller scored from the center of the penalty area to beat Riznyk – 1-2.

The second half began with two Shakhtar chances. First, Lassina Traore made a great shot from outside the penalty area, but hit the defender. And a minute later, Bondar missed a moment to get ahead of Muller near the goal line. However, the initiative then passed back to the guests, and in the 70th minute they were awarded a penalty kick, which Oliseh converted without any problems. And under the very curtain, Musiala did the best job in the Pitmen’s penalty area, and in stoppage time Oliseh scored a double. So, 1: 5 – a defeat for Marino Pušić’s men.

Shakhtar featured players of the national team who were used by Serhiy Rebrov in the November matches of the League of Nations: Riznyk, Matvienko, Konoplya, Bondar, Sudakov, Kryskiv (came on in the 46th minute, yellow card), Zubkov (assist, replaced in the 83rd minute).
