Ukrainians who have been declared partially fit for military service must undergo a second military medical examination within 9 months. This was announced in a weekly digest by the spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, Dmytro Lazutkin, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Citizens who currently have a “limited fitness” status must undergo a second military medical examination within 9 months, i.e. by 4 February 2025.

“Citizens of Ukraine who were declared partially fit for military service before 4 May 2024 are subject to a second medical examination within 9 months to determine their fitness for military service,”

– lazutkin said.

He stressed that the current legislation does not provide for automatic transfer to the category of fit or unfit, this issue is decided exclusively by the Military Qualification Commission.

It should be noted that on 4 May, amendments to Order 402 of the Ministry of Defence came into force, according to which the military medical commission (MMC) will no longer be able to grant a conscript the status of “limitedly fit” for service.

After the re-examination, those found unfit will be discharged from military service, while those found fit will continue to serve.

Persons liable for military service who are found to be unfit will be removed from the military register, while those found to be fit will be able to serve.

It should be noted that the updated law on mobilisation came into force on 18 May. All men aged 18-60 must update their registration details within 60 days – until 16 July inclusive.

The Ministry of Defence launched the Reserve mobile application for persons liable for military service, conscripts and reservists on 18 May, after the updated law on mobilisation came into force.
