Google has traditionally summarized the year and presented the ranking of the most popular search queries of Ukrainian users. The company analyzed which queries in different categories showed the greatest growth in popularity in 2024 and identified the topics that were of most interest to Ukrainians. Google published the results on its blog, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

It is not surprising that the first place among the most popular queries of the year was taken by “Power outage schedule”. The second position was occupied by the query “Euro 2024”, and the third place was taken by “Cheese”. Other top search queries of the year included “Olympic Games 2024”, “Easter 2024” and “Suja”.

In the category of people whose interest grew the most during the year, the leader was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. Other popular names include Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, American politician Donald Trump, US Vice President Kamala Harris and Claudia Petrovna.

In the section dedicated to the year’s losses, most of the queries concerned Irina Farion, Alexei Navalny and Alain Delon.

The Ukrainian documentary 20 Days in Mariupol was the leader in the Movies category. The second and third positions were taken by sequels to popular movie franchises – the animation Inside Out 2 and the fantasy film Dune. Part Two”. In 2024, Ukrainians actively searched for energy devices, including EcoFlow, charging stations, inverters, and solar panels. Other popular shopping requests included Dubai chocolate, squash paw and tubing.

Ukrainian users were also interested in the meaning of various topical abbreviations, such as MSEK, REB, ASC, and KAB. In addition, they were looking for explanations of words such as “terricones,” “quadroberts,” and “chinazes,” and tried to understand what blackout queues and OK-7 certificate are.
