The United States is abandoning utopian idealism in its foreign policy. This was stated by Pentagon Chief Pete Hagseth at the Ronald Reagan National Defense Forum, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“We are doing this in a way that will benefit not only our country but the whole world. Down with utopian idealism, and long live sober realism,” the minister said.

on December 5, the White House published a new US national security strategy. The document identifies the earliest possible resolution of the war in Ukraine and the restoration of strategic stability with Russia as Washington’s priority interests. The US demands that Europe take responsibility for its own defense.

Moscow is no longer considered a “threat to the global order,” as it was in the previous version of the strategy. In addition, the White House intends to help ensure that NATO is no longer perceived as an “ever-expanding alliance.”
