Viktor Medvid, editor-in-chief of the Pryamyy TV channel, tried to illegally leave for Poland through the Volyn region using forged documents. This was reported by Volynski Novyny with reference to the decision of the Lyuboml District Court, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"

According to the newspaper, the editor conspired with an unknown person to produce documents that would allow him to cross the border without hindrance. The forged documents included a temporary certificate of a person liable for military service and a certificate from the military medical commission, which stated that the man was allegedly unfit for service due to a severe form of viral hepatitis C.

This incident occurred on February 19, 2024, when a journalist with a false diagnosis tried to cross the border through the Yahodyn railway checkpoint. During the inspection, border guards found that the documents were forged and prevented him from leaving the country.

During the trial, Medved pleaded guilty, which helped to mitigate the sentence. His actions were classified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including assistance in forgery and use of such documents. Given that the man has no previous criminal record, has a positive characterization and has a dependent child, the court imposed a fine of UAH 68 thousand.
