A fine of up to UAH 25,000: the TCC issued an important statement to 17-year-old Ukrainians

From January 1 to July 31, 2025, young men who turn 17 this year are required to register for military service. This can be done online or in person at a local recruitment center. Otherwise, get ready to face a fine of up to UAH 25,500. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Zhytomyr TCC and JV.

Military registration is mandatory

Failure to comply with legal requirements entails financial liability. If you have not registered before July 31, 2025, the violation can only be corrected in person by coming to the TCC and JV. However, you will not be able to avoid the fine.

The amount of thefine:

  • uAH 17,000 to 25,500 for violation of the rules of military registration.

Who is obliged to register

Young men who turn 17 in 2025;

Men under 25 who:

  • changed their place of residence (in particular, returned from abroad)
  • obtained Ukrainian citizenship;
  • released from prison;
  • expelled from military educational institutions;
  • have not completed basic military training.

How to register?

Online – through the Reserve application:

  • Specify your personal data in the recruiter’s electronic office.

In person – at the MCC and JV:

  • Submit documents at the place of registration or actual residence.

What documents are required:

  • Passport of a citizen of Ukraine
  • Extract from the register of the territorial community
  • Identification code (TIN)
  • Birth certificate
  • Document on education
  • Certificate from the place of study/work (if available)
  • IDP certificate (for IDPs)
  • 4 photos 35×45 mm
