A high-profile scandal has broken out in the Verkhovna Rada: Servant of the People MP Mariana Bezuhla knocked on the closed door of the meeting of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence for an hour and a half, where SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk was speaking. This was reported by former MP Boryslav Bereza on social media. The deputy accused her colleagues of obstructing her activities and called the committee ineffective, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
What happened at the meeting?
According to Boryslav Bereza, the meeting of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, which was attended by the head of the SBU Vasyl Malyuk, was expected to be attended by MP Mariana Bezuhla. The committee members, who wanted to work in peace, started the meeting in advance.
“So, today there was a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence with the participation of the SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk. But all the participants of this meeting knew that Mariana Bezuhla wanted to come to the committee and put on a show. It is clear that the members of the committee wanted to work, not to become participants in a trash show with Bezuhla. Therefore, they leaked her information that the meeting started at the same time, but they started half an hour earlier,” Beereza said.
When Bezuhla arrived, she faced closed doors, which became an “irresistible force” for her.
“When the inadequate MP came to the committee, she faced a force that was irresistible to her – the doors were closed. Then Mariana decided to knock. Of course, there were no idiots there and the door was not opened. Then she started screaming and demanding to be immediately admitted to the committee, while pounding on the door,” Bereza ironically wrote in his post.
Bezugla, according to him, began to scream, demanding admission, and even “tapped out melodies” on the door, shouting: “Shameful wolves, let the deputy in! I want to make a statement about the crime.”
According to him, her actions lasted for an hour and a half, but the door was not opened.

Bezuhla’s position: accusations of inaction
In her post, Mariana Bezuhla confirmed that she was not allowed to attend the meeting, accusing the committee members of deliberately obstructing her activities. She noted that the door was locked from the inside, and three other committee members were also unable to enter for fear that she would be included.
“Today, the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence locked themselves in the office from the inside to physically prevent me from attending the meeting:) It was another hearing, as they like to do – to summon me and just talk. This time, Vasyl Malyuk, the SBU, was there, but without a protocol, without a decision, for show. Without any consequences or conclusions,” Bezuhla wrote.
She called the meeting with Malyuk “indicative” without a protocol or decisions, and the committee an ineffective body that does not consider hundreds of bills and does not resolve key issues.
Bezuhla also accused her colleagues of concealing the “abuses of the generals” and suggested dissolving the committee if such “absurdity” continues.
“There are at least half a thousand (!) unreviewed draft laws in the committee. There is no contextual reporting on the work of the Verkhovna Rada Committee to the public. Complete silence about everything that is happening in the army, at the front, regarding the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Industry, the Foreign Ministry, etc. – no statements or positions of the committee for years. The statutes of the Armed Forces have not been changed, military justice has not been implemented, the SBU reform has not been implemented; state secrets are still regulated by the law of the 90s; dozens of other unresolved issues. In general, there is complete silence around the abuses of the generals,” the MP said.
Earlier it was reported that MP Mariana Bezuhla disrupted a closed meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that Bezuhla’s statements are often used by Russian propagandists, and she often gives them reasons to do so. In particular, because of her “attacks” on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. In fact, she directly called on her social media to replace the commander-in-chief.
