How much cash can be withdrawn from Ukrainian banks: current limits of Privatbank, Oschadbank and Ukreximbank

17 August 21:15

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of August, leading financial institutions continue to set certain limits.

This is done for several reasons, Expert writes , according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Why are restrictions needed?

First of all, cash withdrawal restrictions are aimed at improving customer security. If the card is lost or compromised, the limit significantly reduces possible financial losses. In addition, ATMs can be subject to criminal attacks, and limiting the amount of withdrawals per transaction is an important precaution.

There is also a practical aspect: ATMs have a limited number of banknotes, and unlimited cash withdrawals could quickly empty them. This helps banks manage their resources more efficiently and plan their services, as replenishing ATMs is costly. During periods of economic instability, limits also help to avoid a sharp increase in demand for cash, which could destabilize the financial system.

How much can you withdraw from leading banks

  • PrivatBank: up to UAH 20,000 per transaction. The next transaction can be made only after three hours.
  • Oschadbank: up to UAH 20,000 per transaction, daily limit is UAH 50,000.
  • Ukreximbank: the limit is UAH 25,000 per transaction, with no restrictions on the number of withdrawals per day.

These measures are designed to protect both banks and customers by ensuring the availability of cash and reducing the burden on the financial system.
