On the morning of April 18, 2025, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Dnipro, damaging several civilian facilities, including the new office of the ATB corporation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing a Facebook post by Borys Markov, a member of the corporation’s board of directors.
“Our new office was severely damaged by the blast wave. Fortunately, no one was injured. The office has become our pride and a recognizable face of the company, a new modern and comfortable place of work for many of our employees,” Markov wrote.

The new office center of ATB Corporation, opened in 2024, was heavily damaged. The blast wave destroyed the glass facade of the building.
Markov also expressed confidence in the building’s restoration and continuation of work.
“We will manage. We will rebuild, repair and continue working. We are very grateful to the Dnipro Air Defense Forces and all the defenders for protecting our skies! If it wasn’t for their super brave and super courageous work, the consequences would have been completely different,” added the member of the ATB Corporation Board of Directors.

Other damaged facilities
In addition to the ATB office, the attack damaged a fitness center and a hotel. At the fitness center, the blast wave destroyed exercise equipment and other equipment. The hotel was also damaged, but details are not yet available. All the facilities were empty at the time of the attack, so there were no casualties.
Authorities’ response
The head of the Dnipro regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak , said that the attack also damaged private houses and greenhouses in the Dniprovsky district.
Context
The attack is part of a series of attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. In recent weeks alone, several similar incidents have been reported in Dnipro, including damage to the Biosphere Corporation warehouse and the Astoria Hotel.
How ATB will become Ukraine’s Lidl: the chain’s co-owner presents an ambitious expansion plan
Ukraine’s largest retailer, ATB Corporation, has announced ambitious plans to expand its network to 5,000 stores. This is almost 3.5 times more than it is now, as the chain has about 1,300 outlets as of early 2025.
ATB is not just increasing the number of outlets – the company is actively reviewing its approaches to their location. The company prioritizes cities with a population of 10,000 or more.
In addition, the company has begun to open stores near the outskirts of cities and in small towns where large retailers were not present a few years ago.In 2025, the corporation plans to open 80 new stores and acquire another 100 properties for future outlets. This is part of a long-term plan that takes into account the economic situation, competition, and logistics.
The large-scale expansion means greater accessibility of basic necessities for millions of Ukrainians, especially in regions where the choice of stores was previously limited. Thanks to its centralized logistics, own imports and control over the production of its own brands, the company maintains some of the lowest prices on the market.
