Funeral of actor Yuriy Felipenko: place and time announced

On Thursday, June 19, Kyiv will say goodbye to Yuriy Felipenko, an actor and soldier who died defending Ukraine from Russian invaders. The farewell ceremony will be held in two stages, as reported by his wife Kateryna Motrych, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs.

11:00 – Theater on Podil
This is where Yuriy performed throughout his career. A farewell ceremony for relatives, colleagues and friends will be held in his native theater.
13:30 – St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral
Kateryna Motrych invites everyone who wants to honor the memory of the fallen defender to join the ceremony at St. Michael’s Cathedral.
“I am asking you to come. It would mean a lot to Yura. For me, it would be a consolation,” wrote the victim’s wife.
The death of Yuriy Felipenko became knownon June 15. He was 32 years old.
Yuriy Felipenko was an actor at the Kyiv Academic Drama Theater in Podil. In 2016, he graduated from the I. K. Karpenko-Karpenko Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television. He has appeared in numerous Ukrainian films and TV series.
Felipenko joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in April 2024. He defended our country as a member of the Achilles Aircraft of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ataman Ivan Sirko.
Yurii married Kateryna Motrych in the summer of the same year.
