Today Skype will stop working forever

Today, on May 5, 2025, the Skype app will officially cease to operate. This was announced by Microsoft, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
In a few hours, the service will close forever.
The program, launched in 2003, reached its peak of popularity with more than 300 million active users in 2013. The Skype communication system is known for its wide range of features, including free voice and video conferencing.
However, since then, its audience has declined significantly, giving way to more modern platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft is encouraging users to switch to the free version of Teams, which offers similar features and provides automatic transfer of chats and contacts.
Skype data will be available for export until January 2026.
