Solsky responds to allegations of land fraud

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky has responded to reports that law enforcement officials have suspected him of land deals worth almost half a billion hryvnias. The minister’s comment was published by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Komersant ukrainskyi
reports.
Solsky said that the episodes indicated by law enforcement officers on which he is accused relate to the period of 2017-2018, when he was a lawyer and had nothing to do with the civil service.
The minister also responded to the substance of the charges and denied them.
“The circumstances of seven years ago relate to a dispute between state-owned enterprises and individuals, including ATO soldiers, over land that was granted to the latter in accordance with the law. Disputes are resolved by the courts, including the Supreme Court, and as far as I know, a number of decisions have been issued to date stating that state-owned enterprises have no right to the land that NABU is probably referring to,”
– the Minister said.
Law enforcement agencies accuse Solsky of seizing state land worth UAH 291 million and attempting to seize another UAH 190 million.
