Consequences of a missile strike on Kyiv: damaged church and burnt-out cars

A Russian missile attack in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district damaged houses and started a fire. Missile fragments also fell in other parts of the capital, Komersant ukrainskyi

As of the morning of 21 March, there are 13 wounded Kyiv residents.
The Kyiv City State Administration stressed that there were no fatalities. Four victims were hospitalised in medical institutions of the capital.
“As a result of the missile strike in Kyiv, 13 people were injured: six people in the Sviatoshynskyi district and seven in the Shevchenkivskyi district,”
– local authorities said.
In Shevchenkivskyi district, a multi-storey residential building was damaged and an apartment caught fire. People were evacuated from there.
Cars caught fire at another address. One private house was also on fire. The blast waves damaged windows in some buildings.
The debris fell on the territory of residential buildings between the kindergarten and residential buildings, without any negative consequences.


















As a result of Russian terrorist rocket fire on Kyiv, St Nicholas Church on Tatarka Street was damaged.



In the Sviatoshynskyi district, it was reported that the shelling damaged a kindergarten building, but this information was not confirmed. Residential high-rise buildings were damaged and cars were on fire. The shock wave smashed windows in two nine-storey buildings.
In Podilskyi district, debris fell on the territory of two enterprises, non-residential buildings and on the roof of a residential building. Fires broke out, including in a transformer substation. The roof of a non-residential two-storey building also caught fire.
All emergency services are working at the scene and the aftermath of the attack is being addressed.
































Attack on Kyiv
On the night of 21 March, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with missiles. Kyiv came under attack. The occupiers fired 31 missiles, including 29 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles, Iskander-M and Kinzhal missiles. All missiles were destroyed in the Kyiv region.
However, fragments of the downed missiles fell in Kyiv, causing damage and fires. In particular, residential buildings, a kindergarten and cars were damaged in the capital.
