Rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Vinnytsia region were used as free labor on private construction sites

The former head of the Main department of the State emergency service in Vinnytsia region is suspected of forced use of subordinate rescuers at their own construction sites. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, informs "Komersant Ukrainian".
The essence of the scheme
According to the investigation, the suspect during 2024-2025 years abused his official position, issuing illegal orders to the heads of fire and rescue units. Five subordinate rescuers were relieved of their official duties and sent to construction work at facilities owned by the official himself and members of his family.
Prosecutors qualified the actions as human trafficking committed against several persons by an official using his official position (part 2 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Court decision
At the request of the prosecutor’s office, the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for the suspect. At the same time, the possibility of bail in the amount of almost 2.5 million hryvnias is envisaged.
Investigative authorities continue to establish the full range of victims and persons involved in the illegal scheme of labor exploitation of employees of the State Emergency Situations Service.
