The Russian military is preparing for a powerful assault on Zaporizhzhia and will try to break through to the border of Dnipropetrovs’k region. This was stated by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces Vladislav Voloshin, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to him, the Russian army has been preparing for assault operations for several weeks.
“For the past two weeks, the enemy has intensified assault operations by small groups in the Vremivsk direction. Every day 25 or even 30 assault operations take place there. The enemy is using tanks and armored combat vehicles,” said Voloshyn.
The military emphasized that Zaporizhzhia is located 30 kilometers from the frontline. And the enemy, having made certain changes and improved the systems for dropping KABs, has ensured that these high-powered bombs – KAB-250, KAB-500 – are now arriving in the center of the regional center.
In addition, the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces said that the enemy is beginning to prepare similar assault groups with the use of equipment for similar assault operations in the Hulyaypillia direction. In the Orikhivsk sector, the enemy is already redeploying personnel to the front lines. This means that very soon he will start similar actions there as well. According to intelligence, the enemy is deploying a fairly large number of such infantry assault groups – up to a hundred.
