Iranian-backed armed groups are planning to attack US military bases in Iraq and potentially in Syria.
This was reported by The New York Times (NYT), citing sources in the US security and intelligence community, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“The US military and intelligence analysts have detected signs of preparations for strikes on US targets in response to the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities,” the newspaper writes.
The information is based on satellite surveillance and communications interception data.
On the night of June 22, US President Donald Trump said that the country’s air force had attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. The American leader called it a “historic moment” for the United States, Israel and the entire international community and said that after this “remarkable success” Iran should agree to peace. At this, the Islamic Republic itself claims that the US strikes did not cause significant damage to its facilities
