The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering abolishing or reducing duties on imports of goods that are not produced in the United States.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The material notes that in recent weeks, Trump has exempted dozens of goods from reciprocal duties and proposed to exclude hundreds more from them, from agricultural products to aircraft parts, when countries conclude trade agreements with the United States. According to the newspaper’s sources, there is a growing understanding among officials that the United States should reduce duties on goods that are not produced domestically.

Prior to that, Trump said that the United States had become the richest country on the planet amid a policy of tariffs against other countries.

on October 11, Trump announced the introduction of a 100% duty on all goods from China starting November 1, in addition to the existing ones. The US leader also announced the introduction of export controls on “critical software”. These measures were presented as a response to China’s “extremely aggressive stance” in trade.
