In August 2025, the amount of funds received by the banks liquidated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (DGF) amounted to about UAH 1.86 billion. Of this amount, almost UAH 1.84 billion was received from the correspondent accounts of Prominvestbank JSC.
This was reported by the press service of the DGF, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The Fund proved that the funds on Prominvestbank’s correspondent accounts belong to the state of Ukraine, released them from the sanctions block and returned about $44 million. The money was subsequently transferred to the state budget of Ukraine.
Also in August, the banks being liquidated by the DGF received UAH 34.7 million from loan repayments. Another UAH 16.8 million was received from the sale of assets, UAH 5.5 million from securities income, and UAH 2.6 million from property lease.
In total, since the beginning of 2025, the Deposit Guarantee Fund has received over UAH 4.3 billion from the banks being liquidated.
As a reminder, on February 25, 2022, the NBU revoked banking licenses and sent Prominvestbank, owned by the Russian state corporation VEB.rf, and International Reserve Bank, owned by Sberbank of Russia, into liquidation.
During the liquidation of Prominvestbank, it was found that $2 million and more than €36.6 million were placed on its correspondent account with Bank of New York Mellon. In 2022, these funds were blocked by the US side in connection with the imposition of US sanctions against the Bank as a subsidiary of the Russian VEB.RF.
