The US State Department has approved the sale of another military aid package to Ukraine. Its value is about $825 million. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the US State Department.
The State Department said that Ukraine has expressed a desire to purchase up to 3,350 extended-range missiles (ERAMs – ed.) and the same number of GPS/INS modules.
The aid package also includes:
- containers for missiles
- pylons for hanging;
- components and auxiliary equipment;
- spare parts, consumables and accessories;
- repair and return services;
- weapons software and auxiliary equipment;
- mission planning system hardware;
- supply and support of classified software;

“This sale proposal will advance U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives by enhancing the security of a partner country that is a driving force for political stability and economic progress in Europe,” the State Department said.
It is noted that the new assistance package will improve Ukraine’s ability to confront current and future threats by further equipping it to fulfill its self-defense and regional security tasks.
In addition, the State Department believes that Ukraine will have no difficulty integrating these goods and services into its armed forces.
Who will finance the procurement?
The procurement will be funded by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, as well as by foreign military financing from the United States.
“ERAM is an example of working with our NATO allies to create a powerful and scalable system that can be implemented in a short time frame,” the statement said.
Characteristics of ERAM missiles:
- Range: 450-460 km
- Speed: about 700 km/h
- Resistance to electronic warfare
- Compatible with F-16, MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft
These missiles are capable of hitting radar stations, air defense systems, and naval targets.
US and NATO assistance
on July 14, US President Donald Trump, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, said that he planned to provide Ukraine with “billions of dollars worth of weapons purchased by NATO.”
Among other things, he mentioned Patriot air defense systems that could also be included in future deliveries.
