The HAWK (Homing All the Way Killer) is an American medium-range surface-to-air missile system developed in the 1950s. Thanks to multiple modernizations, it remains relevant and is still actively used in many countries around the world. The main purpose of the system is to intercept airplanes, helicopters and certain types of cruise missiles.
The HAWK Phase III modification, which Ukraine plans to receive, has significantly improved radar guidance, which provides improved accuracy and effectiveness against air targets. The system is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 40 km and an altitude of up to 18 km, making it quite versatile in the context of modern combat conditions.
