Israel, contrary to popular belief, is helping Ukraine in its war with Russia, and even providing it with weapons. At one time, Israel handed over Patriot air defense systems to the Ukrainian side, which were previously in service with the Israeli forces. This was stated by Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky in an interview with Marichka Dovbenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Brodsky denied the widespread opinion in Ukraine that there is no military assistance from Tel Aviv. Moreover, he said that Israel has helped Ukraine with the entire Patriot system.
“There is a system that is very well known here in Ukraine – the Patriot system, which saved us in the early 90s, when there was the first Gulf War. Back then, we received Patriot systems from the United States. And by the way, these systems are now in Ukraine. These are Israeli systems that were in service with Israel in the early 90s. We agreed to transfer them to Ukraine. And unfortunately, this was not talked about very much. But when they say that Israel did not help militarily, it is not true, it is not true. Israel also helped Ukraine a lot in the military sense,”
– the diplomat explained.
At the same time, he did not want to explain why Israel does not advertise its support, but provides it quietly. According to him, this is their tactic.
“These are very sensitive topics. It is better to discuss them not in public but through special channels. So let’s leave them to the experts who work on them,”
– the ambassador clarified.

Cooperation with Russia
However, this tactic can be understood if we try to look at the situation through the eyes of Israel itself. This state is at the very epicenter of contradictions in the Middle East, where Russia is a very active player. Therefore, Israel, according to the diplomat, will in no way cut off communication channels with Russia.
“Russia is influencing Iran, and we have to influence Russia so that it does not influence Iran and does not help Iran develop its nuclear program,”
– he explained.
According to the ambassador, Israel’s red line is to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, as this would change the entire Middle East. Therefore, Israel believes that cooperation with Russia is necessary at least on this issue.
