The United States is suspending the sale of weapons, including Patriot air defense systems, to some European countries due to a reduction in stocks.
This is reported by The Atlantic magazine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that earlier the Pentagon suddenly decided not to sell air defense systems worth several million dollars to Denmark, despite the fact that this had been sought for several weeks.
Unnamed officials from the US presidential administration said that the Pentagon has identified a shortage of certain types of weapons and is taking steps to block new requests from Europe to buy these systems.
It is not yet known how long this refusal will last. If this policy continues for a long time, it risks causing new disputes with allies and reducing US military influence in Europe, the article says.
The change also means the loss of billions of dollars in public and private revenue, fewer jobs in the defense industry, limited production expansion, and the closure of research, the author added.
