The Nobel Assembly of the Karolinska Institutet has awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2025 to Japanese Susumi Kitagawa, Australian Richard Robson, and American Omar Yaagi for the development of metal-organic framework structures. This was announced by the Nobel Committee at a ceremony held in Stockholm, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Earlier it became known that the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2025 was awarded for research in quantum mechanics to American scientists John Clark, Michel H. Devore and John M. Martinis for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and energy quantization in an electrical circuit. The winners of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine are Americans Mary Brunckow, Fred Ramsdell, and Japanese Shimon Sakaguchi, who have discovered what prevents the immune system from attacking the cells of its own body.
Last year, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to American scientist David Baker, as well as British researcher John Jumper and scientist Demis Hasabis.
