The Verkhovna Rada will not return to the issue of lowering the mobilization age.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk in an interview with Hromadske Radio, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“The measure of all things is the victory of Ukraine, the preservation of statehood,” he said.

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament reminded that the Verkhovna Rada had already lowered the mobilization age from 27 to 25 years.

In particular, Ukrainian youth now have the opportunity to sign a contract with the Armed Forces and voluntarily join the defense of the state.

“I do not think that the parliament will in any way “play” with the conscription age,” emphasized Stefanchuk.

According to him, in addition to repelling the aggressor, we must also think about the future of the country, about people under 18 who will rebuild Ukraine after the victory.

“The “golden fund” of Ukraine, who are now between 0 and 18, are the people who will rebuild Ukraine. … The Armed Forces are fighting for them. For the sake of their future. That is why I think that the Parliament will not return to the issue of lowering the mobilization age,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized.

As previously reported, Ukraine has no plans to reduce the mobilization age, as the Armed Forces have enough reserve brigades, but lack weapons from international partners and permits to use long-range weapons on the territory of the aggressor country.
