Ukrainian People’s Artist Stepan Giza’s leg was amputated after the second knee surgery, and he is in a coma. This was reported by journalist Vitaliy Glagola, citing sources close to the singer’s family, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Where did the rumors of amputation come from?

According to the interlocutors, the surgical intervention was a forced step due to serious postoperative complications. Amidst the stress of the body, the artist’s sugar level rose sharply, which caused critical circulatory disorders in the lower limb. According to the sources, doctors decided to amputate the limb, as there were no other ways to stop the dangerous processes.

Sources also report that Stepan Giga is currently in a coma, and his condition is assessed as extremely serious.

Earlier, information about the alleged amputation of the artist’s leg was published by blogger Bogdan Bespalov. According to him, the complications were related to the singer’s diabetes. He claimed that the operation was performed to save the patient’s life.

Earlier, Channel 24, citing its own sources, also reported that Stepan Giza’s leg was amputated above the knee and he was in a Lviv hospital.

What the official side says: a call not to believe rumors

The editorial office of Channel 24 asked Stepan Giga’s team for a comment to find out if the rumors are true.

Irena, the artist’s PR manager, responded:

“At the moment, everything we can comment on has already been published on Stepan Petrovich’s official resources. If there is new information, we will immediately announce it publicly. And don’t believe the rumors.”

She did not confirm or deny the information about the amputation, but emphasized that reliable information is published only on the singer’s official pages.

What is known about the hospitalization and surgery

On November 19, Stepan Giga’s team announced that the artist was hospitalized and underwent an emergency surgery. His condition was then described as serious but stable.

All scheduled concerts were canceled.

At the same time, the reason for the hospitalization and the diagnosis were not disclosed – it was the decision of the artist’s family and team.

Since then, there have been no official updates on his health status.
