Analysts of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv have identified a Kyiv-based company exporting luxury vehicles that unlawfully generated a negative value added tax of UAH 4.7 million. According to the BES press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

During the analytical study, the BES experts found that the company had claimed a VAT refund from the budget, but the documents for the export of goods contained signs of formality.

“It was established that the company involved intermediaries in the scheme. In particular, companies registered in Europe that supply cars. Including to countries under sanctions. The BES analysts sent a letter of recommendation with the identified risks to the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv for control and verification measures,”

– the BES said.

Prior to the tax audit, the company cancelled its application for VAT refund on its own.

“At the same time, the units of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv conducted an audit, which resulted in a relevant act and cancelled the negative VAT value. Thus, the analysts of the Territorial Department prevented an attempt to illegally refund UAH 4.7 million of VAT,”

– the BES summarised.
