A judge of the Brovary City District Court of Kyiv Region, together with an accomplice lawyer, will be brought to trial for organizing an illegal trip abroad during martial law. According to the investigation, in March 2023, the judge, while on annual leave, decided to organize a vacation outside the country. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the investigation, knowing that during martial law, judges can only travel abroad on official business trips, the defendant in the case turned to a lawyer he knew. Together, they developed a scheme to illegally cross the border: they prepared a fictitious invitation to an international event, on the basis of which a fake travel order was issued.

With the fake documents, the judge crossed the state border without hindrance and went on a cruise to the Caribbean islands. He did not inform either the court management or the border guards about the real purpose of his trip.
Moreover, during his vacation, the judge illegally received about 60 thousand hryvnias in salary from the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine.

Now the judge is charged with several criminal offenses: organizing forgery, using documents, and obtaining funds by deception. His accomplice, a lawyer, also faces liability for aiding and abetting in the forgery of documents, misappropriation of funds, and assistance in organizing the illegal transportation of a person across the state border of Ukraine.
