Former Dynamo president and UEFA honorary member, Ukrainian MP Hryhoriy Surkis reacted to the news of the death of former Dynamo defender and head coach Mykhailo Fomenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Surkis recalled that Fomenko was part of Valeriy Lobanovsky’s legendary Dynamo, which won the first European trophy in the club’s history.
He also noted Fomenko’s great role in the success of Dynamo and Ukrainian football.
“Mikhail Ivanovich was a truly outstanding figure in the football world. One of the indispensable players of Lobanovsky’s miracle team of the mid-1970s, and later a talented, progressive coach, he did a lot for the positive image of our football. My sincere condolences to Fomenko’s family and friends, and to the entire Dynamo Kyiv football family. A part of his merit will always be in the loudest achievements of our football, as well as the good memory of him will always remain,”
– Dynamo’s press service quoted him as saying.
As previously reported, Ukrainian MP Hryhoriy Surkis, who was elected from the now-banned OPFL, had a permanent residence permit in Germany as of 2023.
Having studied the activities of Hryhoriy Surkis as an MP, it can be stated that according to the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada, Surkis last submitted a draft law in December 2021.
In addition, Surkis is a regular participant in anti-ratings for the number of missed meetings in the Verkhovna Rada and the number of ignored votes.
At the same time, in 2023, he received almost half a million hryvnias in salary from the VRU.
