The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and authorized the use of the domestic unmanned aerial FPV complex Svitlovod in the Armed Forces .
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense with reference to the Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Drones of the Svitlovod complex have a powerful design, including a strong frame, powerful engines and lightweight but capacious batteries. The main technological advantage is the fiber-optic control channel, which allows for effective delivery of a combat charge over a distance of several tens of kilometers.
In addition, FPV drones are equipped with automatic target detection and recognition systems, which significantly increases the accuracy of the attack. Depending on the configuration, they can be equipped with day or night cameras.
The Svitlovod system is ready to launch in minutes, which is a critical feature for operational combat missions.
Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense has already commissioned more than 60 samples of UAVs with fiber-optic control channel. Earlier it was reported that Chief-1 and Volyniak, also created by Ukrainian developers, were put into service.
