Ukraine’s first “racket” Elina Svitolina has been nominated for the Heart Award. This was reported by the Ukrainian Tennis Association, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“The Heart Award is presented to tennis players who have honorably represented their country, demonstrated exceptional courage on the court and outstanding commitment to the team during their performance at the BJK Cup tournament throughout the year,” the statement said.

The winners receive a cash prize and can then donate the money to a charity of their choice.

In April, Svitolina won two games against rivals from Poland and Switzerland, helping the Ukrainian national team reach the final round of the BJK Cup for the first time in its history.

In addition to Svitolina, the nominees for the award include Sonia Cartel (Great Britain), Victoria Mboko (Canada), Bernarda Pera (USA) and Ena Shibahara (Japan).
