During a report at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, presented data on Russia’s use of various means of destruction to strike Ukraine. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

A total of 9,590 missiles and 1,3997 drones were taken into account, of which 2,429 missiles and 5,972 drones have been intercepted since the beginning of 2022. The number of affected targets was 11,879, with most of them being civilian (6,203) and military (5,676).

The overall statistics reflect significant changes in the development of Ukrainian defence, from the period when Ukraine relied solely on Soviet systems to the moment when it developed its air defence to protect against long-range drones. However, the percentage of intercepts of different types of missiles varies depending on their characteristics and application. Cruise missile intercept rates were higher (66.62 per cent) compared to guided missiles (22.02 per cent).

In terms of drones, a large number of Shahed-136 drones were launched and intercepted (13315 and 8836, respectively) with an overall intercept rate of 63.36%. As for lightly shielded ballistic missiles, including Iskander, Tochka-U, and KN-23 (DPRK), the intercept rate was only 4.47%. Anti-aircraft missiles, such as the S-300 and S-400, also showed a low intercept rate (0.63%) of the 3,008 missiles fired.

Among the missile weapons that require the use of modern air defences are the X-22 and X-32, launched from Tu-22M3. A total of 362 such missiles were launched, but only 2 of them were intercepted (0.55%). Hypersonic weapons such as the Kinzhal and Zircon were also used by Russia. Of the 111 Kinzhal shots fired, 28 were intercepted (25.23%), while the Zircon was used only 6 times, of which 2 were intercepted (5.69%).
