Taras Topolya announces collection of UAH 1 million for a psychiatrist for Bezuhla: MP responds

Taras Topolya, the frontman of the band Antytila, has announced a fundraiser to raise UAH 1 million for a psychiatrist for MP Mariana Bezuhla. The artist responded in this way to her cynical post about the singer’s damaged apartment after the Russian attack on Kyiv.

According to musician Taras Topolya, a blast wave smashed windows in his and his wife, singer Olena’s apartment, tore armored doors out of their locks, and smashed furniture. MP Mariana Bezuhla called it karma for the song about Bakhmut.

Topol: “I’d rather burn in hell than announce a collection for repairs”

In his post, the singer thanked for the support, but said he was not going to ask for money for his own needs.

“Are you asking for my card number? Friends, I’d rather burn in hell with shame than announce a collection for my repairs. Thank God, I have a voice, family and friends, so we will manage,” Topolya wrote.

Instead, he decided to use the resonant situation to open a collection… for psychiatric care for Mariana Bezuhla:

“What is really important, a matter of national importance, is to help the People’s Deputy with her treatment. We are human beings, not some crazy narrow-minded people. So I’m opening a jar “For Mariana’s psychiatrist”. Get involved, don’t be indifferent, show sensitivity and mercy to the person who writes laws in such turbulent times, to the person for whom the whole Obolon neighborhood once voted!
It seems we need a full-fledged course, or even several.”

In the publication, Topolya set a clear goal of raising UAH 1,000,000. And in case Bezuhla refuses the “help,” the artist promised to transfer the money to support the children of his fallen comrades from the 130th Battalion of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, where he served.

Bezugla responded to the singer’s post with a comment:

“Topolya, I will accept a million and give it to interceptor drones. So collect,” the MP wrote on Facebook, adding that she was ready to spend the money on the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It should be noted that Taras Topolya, the leader of the Antytila band, has served as a paramedic with the 130th Battalion’s TRO forces for 7 months since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. At the end of August 2022, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi sent the band members to Kyiv from the north of the Kharkiv region for a new task: artistic events abroad and social work. After his discharge from the army, Topolya was appointed a spokesperson for the Youth Council under the President of Ukraine.

By the way, MP Mariana Bezuhla spoke cynically about the man whose body was found under the rubble after the shelling of a high-rise building in Kyiv on June 17. According to her, he was “running away from the army” and this is his karma.
