Tragedy in Kharkiv: a one-and-a-half-year-old girl among the five killed by Russians

On the night of August 18, the Russians carried out another attack on Kharkiv, using drones of the Geran-2 type. According to the latest information, the shelling killed five people, including two children – a one-and-a-half-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" citing information from officials.
Enemy drones attacked a residential five-story building in the Industrial district of the city. Four Geran-2 drones hit the apartment building directly, causing widespread destruction and fires on the first, third and fifth floors.
As a result of the explosion there was a fire in two entrances: in the first one the floors from the second to the fourth were burning, in the second one the last floor was burning. Due to the collapse of the floor slabs, there was a threat that people could remain under the rubble.

The rescue operation continued throughout the morning. At 06:36 rescuers unblocked from under the rubble a woman who may be the mother of the dead child. The woman survived and is receiving the necessary assistance.
In addition to the dead, 20 people were injured, among them six children. Five people are reported missing – it is likely they may be under the rubble. Emergency and rescue operations are continuing.
In total, the Russian attack damaged six residences and 15 cars. Two more enemy drones hit the ground in the same neighborhood.
City mayor Ihor Terekhov has declared August 18 a day of mourning in Kharkiv for those killed by the enemy attack.
