Trump announces “self-deportation” program

US President Donald Trump has announced the launch of a “self-deportation” program. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to NBC News.
In an interview with Fox Noticias, the head of the White House said that under the program, the United States will provide a scholarship and a plane ticket to leave the country.
In return, the US government will work with the immigrants so that they can return to the United States “if they behave well.”
The publication notes that Trump administration officials are urging immigrants to deport themselves from the country. In particular, the Department of Homeland Security has launched a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign aimed at migrants, with the participation of Secretary of the Department Christie Noem.
As a reminder, The Washington Post recently reported that the Trump administration is developing a plan for the largest deportation in US history. In particular, it is planned to deport 1 million migrants a year (there are about 11 million in the country). However, legal and financial barriers may hinder such plans.
Earlier, the Administration of US President Donald Trump decided to revoke the temporary resident status of 530,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. They have until April 24 to leave the United States.
In January, the Department of Homeland Security announced the gradual elimination of programs that allowed some migrants to temporarily live and work in the United States.
The Department of Homeland Security argued in a release that “the Biden administration has abused the humanitarian right to temporary authorization programs by extending it to citizens of several countries.”
“The Biden-Harris administration abused the humanitarian parole program to indiscriminately allow 1.5 million migrants to enter our country. All of this was ended on the first day of the Trump administration. This action will return the humanitarian parole program to its original purpose of considering migrants on a case-by-case basis,” the newspaper quoted the ministry as saying.
